Welcome to EMS Education Foundation
COVID-19 CommUNITY Collaboration
Like you, EMSEF is concerned about the spread of COVID-19, and we are doing everything we can to move our important work for students and teachers forward while also helping to protect the health and safety of our community.
Our mission to strengthen public education in Eagle Mountain- Saginaw continues; however, we have closed our office to guests based on the CDC’s recommendations. Our team is working remotely but still responding during normal business hours through the rest of the academic year. After careful consideration, we have decided to recognize our academic achievement students through a virtual Gala. The details of this event will be made available in the coming weeks. It is important to continue our promise to students and educators as a recognition of academic excellence provider. We will celebrate the accomplishments of the Top 10 graduating students at each of the 3 EMS comprehensive high schools along with their selected teacher of influence and the EMSEF scholarship recipients. Recognition is pivotal for excellent educational performance and we will continue this tradition even if it looks a little different this year.
This is an unprecedented time, but it will not stop our work. We are unwavering in our commitment to serving students and teachers in EMSISD. Our Board of Directors is strong, ready to adapt and respond to the evolving needs of our district as it navigates this uncharted territory.
EMS Education Foundation is changing how we deliver our programs and resources to help ensure we keep students on the pathway to success.
We are working on innovative ways to continue to get resources for literacy into the hands of our most vulnerable students.
We are working with faith-based groups, parent-lead groups and private citizens to provide food and basic needs to our students with transportation voids.
We are offering grant assistance to EMSISD with any point of pain during distance learning. We do not want the digital divide to compromise student’s development and skills.
We are processing student scholarship applications through our scholarship review panel stage, virtually. We will notify recipients by May 1st.
We are processing 21st Century Learning grants and Educational Resource grants through our 3rd party application software to move onto the review panel stage in late April.
We are all in this together. COVID-19 has changed daily life for all of us—that’s why your continued partnership is vital during this massive disruption to education. As always, we are working with the district to understand students’ and teachers’ needs. We will share updated information with you on our website and on our social media channels. Above all else, we wish you and your family safety and good health.

Education is the backbone of society: it develops our abilities to think, analyze, question and to interact with the world.
“Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education. The human mind is our fundamental resource.” — John F. Kennedy
